Remarkable tax efficiency
I have worked with Lesser & Co since 1993 and recommended them to countless people. They are not the cheapest because they actively work to make you tax efficient. The consequent net savings are the best I know. For example an expected tax bill of £20k becoming £6k. Do the maths!

Lesser & Co have provided accountancy and tax advice to both Scott Knight and Dirty Harry’s since 1990.
This enduring relationship has matured over 20 years + and has allowed Dirty Harry’s to grow from a ‘one-man band’ (I originally sat before Stephen as a 21 year old on the Government’s Enterprise Allowance Scheme during the 90’s recession!) to a Group of Companies with a combined turnover in excess of £5.5 million per annum.
We have always found their advice to be sound and balanced.
Moreover – after 20 years as an entrepreneur – I have realized the benefit of an honest accountancy firm that offers long-term advice. Too many companies appear to offer unrealistic tax reduction or quick fixes. While taxation matters are not always the nicest things to discuss – I feel that Lesser and Co. have always provided us with firm but fair advice – delivered in an understandable and easy-digestible manner.
I feel comfortable saying that without Stephen’s often ‘fatherly’ advice on taxation matters we would not have been in a sufficiently strong position to have survived the recent brutal economic downturn. Dirty Harry’s financial strength and substantial retained profits – especially when so many companies leveraged themselves for quick returns – owes no small part to Lesser and Co.’s sage advice.
I would have no hesitation in recommending Lesser and Co to anyone seeking accountancy or tax advice.

When I set up a limited company for my freelance IT work in 2010, I knew i needed an accountant but didn’t know any, nor how to find a good one. Fortunately a former colleague who had also set up his own company strongly recommended Lesser and Co, so I contacted them – and I’m very happy I did.
Lesser and Co are based a long way from where I live or work but this hasn’t got in the way of good communication. I feel I can speak to them on the phone whenever I need to, they respond quickly and fully to e-mails and we meet occasionally for a more general catch-up at a mutually convenient venue.
My turnover is not large but they seem very comfortable supporting smaller companies like mine – it doesn’t seem to matter. I feel they do an excellent job of minimising my tax liability – both Corporation and personal tax (mine and my wife’s) and are always willing to explain the rationale for their recommendations.
